Going Abroad

Students who have plans to travel abroad are well-advised to consider special
health needs related to their trip.
Required and recommended vaccines should be considered at least 2 or 3 months
before departure.
Travel consultations may be arranged as an individual or, preferably, group meeting.
These sessions are scheduled with Dr. Michael Leonard, Medical Director, University
Health Service.
The Broome County Health Department Travel Clinic is another excellent resource
and may be reached at 607.778.2839.
Information from the Centers for
Disease Control (CDC) and the US Consulate Office is also worth investigating.
Appointments with Dr. Leonard for Travel Medicine consultation may be arranged
by calling Health Services (607.777.2221). Students will be asked for information
about when and where the travel will take place. This allows the Health
Service to assemble an individualized information packet for your visit.
