The Appointment Process
Before being seen by a physician or nurse practitioner, students are evaluated by a nurse. Nursing visits can be made as early as 8:00 am until 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday. (Hours may vary during summer and school breaks) We request that initial nurse visits for birth control be made between 9 am -3 pm whenever possible because they require additional time. The nursing staff uses "standing orders" and can often begin treatment which is why for many students, medical appointments are not necessary. Appointments may also made by telephone in cases where the student has been referred after evaluation by a counselor in the University Counseling Center or the athletic trainer. |
