HIV Testing Confidential HIV testing is available by appointment. Please contact the Health Service for the current fee.
Call Health Services at 607.777.2221 and ask to make appointment with nurse
for HIV testing.
New York State requires
that certain information be given to you in a pre-test counseling session
and that you receive your results in a post-test counseling session. Pre-test appointments
are 45 minutes and include the blood test if you decide to proceed. Additonal protections
for your privacy can be detailed during your pre-test appointment. The post-test appointment
is generally shorter and is made for you at the time of the pre-test session.
Results are ONLY given
in person at the post-test appointment, NEVER over the telephone.
As a courtesy to your fellow students, please call if you need to cancel
and/or reschedule your appointment as far in advance as possible. Anonymous testing is available downtown at the Broome County Health Department. This is also free and appointments can be made by calling 607.778.2839 or 1.800.562.9423. |
