Health Fees

Programs and services of the University Health Service are supported by the health fee each student pays each semester as part of campus tuition and fees. A summer health fee is paid by those taking summer courses and students wishing services during that period. Since the fee is pre-paid, there is no charge for office visits. Students may consult with the health educators, have HIV tests or meet with the alcohol and other drug counselor at no charge. Most medications ordered by Health Service clinicians and common medical supplies are provided free also. There are some fees for elective (not required) vaccines and crutches or canes that are not returned. See Vaccine Information Here.

This is NOT the same as health insurance! While the health fee covers your care on campus, you need health insurance to help pay for costs of off campus care. See Insurance Information Here.

Since the campus Health Service is essentially free, it's a good place to start if you have medical concerns of any kind. Most of the time, you will have your needs met without having to go off campus.
